I recently caught up with my college friend, Dillan, who is currently working on piecing together a podcast and invited me to be a guest. Dillan and I catch up time to time, and more often than not, our talks lead to raw, authentic conversations about life.
After hanging up with Dillan, I realized a majority of the outlooks and ideologies we discussed were all influences as to why I started this blog; to keep others inspired and motivated.
This blog post is dedicated to sharing the perspectives Dillan and I agreed are vital, and work to maintain in order to posses positivity, ambition, and inspiration.
1) Have a purpose
What gives you purpose? There's much more to waking up every day, working a 9-5 job and going through the motions. Create goals and become passionate about them.
2) Do with intent
What's the reasoning behind the actions and decisions you make? Think more about your intentions. Are your actions bettering yourself and/or those around you? Having intention will also lead to greater productivity and better results.
3) Become fascinated in learning
I can't stress enough how rewarding the feeling is to learn something new. Learning new things is an achievement, and achievement is something to be proud of. It evolves the incapable into capable. How cool is that?!
4) Have a fire
Bring an edge, a fire to your goals and passion. More importantly, preserve that energy and keep your fire ignited. Be excited, be ambitious. Go achieve those goals!
5) Believe in something
Whether it's God, destiny, everything happens for a reason, whatever it is, believe in something. Belief doesn't provide false hope. Belief reminds you everyone is on their own track; put the work in and you'll end up where you're supposed to be.
6) Enjoy the journey
It's so easy to focus on the end goal, we often forget to enjoy the journey. The process, the struggle, the over-comings, are all what make the finale beautiful.
7) Be selfish
Do things that are good for you. Be selfish in the sense of taking care of your body and soul. Choose to take the harder, more discipline, healthier option. Follow the paths which create the upmost happiness. Step out of your comfort zone and surprise yourself.
8) Full circle
The better you set yourself up to be, the higher standards you hold for others and the youth that follow.
9) Over fill your glass
Once you fill your glass with achieved goals and mastered skills, remember to give back and help others.
10) Look good, feel good, do good
I'm passionate about working out and exercising regularly. If you look good, it gives you the confidence to feel good. If you're confident, you're more likely to do good. Fitness isn't just physical exertion, it's mental training too.
